Ala Wai Critter Sighting

 Was quite tickled to see a Spotted Eagle Ray foraging among the rocks in the Ala Wai Canal the other afternoon.! This was around the area where the Palolo Stream connects with the canal...unusual to see one of them so far inland, and fairly sized, too!!

Cat Tracks

 Rains made for some muddy weather and when I came out to my car after work I noticed that apparently a cat had used it as a shortcut to whatever destination he was going...

Paw prints started from the back trunk of the car all the way to the front!

Junpuu For Lunch!

Christmas City Lights are BACK!

 FINALLY after two years of COVID tomfoolery, the Christmas City Lights Festival at Honolulu Hale is back in full force, complete with parade, eateries, live entertainment and tree/wreath shows!

NEW Nijiya Market Opens!!

 Finally got to check out the new Nijiya Market, now located directly inside the Ala Moana Shopping Center....

Very slick and cool looking, though I DO miss the Homey-ness of the old place.

RIP Diamond Head Theater!

 WELL they wasted no time tearing down the old Diamond Head Theater! Walked by  the place and it was completely razed!

Nijiya Market on the Move...

 Went in to grab some bentos for lunch this morning at Nijiya Market in Ala Moana as was reminded that they were moving into the actual center itself when I saw all the bare shelves which usually blocked out the windows with boxes, as well as the huge "WE ARE MOVING" signs posted up!

When paying for my food, I asked when the big move was, and the girl told me that this was the last day and were closing that afternoon, to have their NEW grand opening later that week!

Walked by the new area later,but there was no hint of the new store to come....

85°c Bakery

Went to check out the grand opening of the latest bakery shoppe in Ala Moana (of which they are only one of several), the popular CA based bakery, 85°c!

 

It was a madhouse inside the place, but I was able to grab a few treats including the mochi egg tarts, coconut strudel and red bean bread, a small purchase when I saw others simply LOADING their trays with goodies...

With my meager haul I got a 85°c Tote Bag as well as a raffle token which garnered me a 85°c Collectible Mug! Below: Spoils from the Grand Opening!
