Went in to grab some bentos for lunch this morning at Nijiya Market in Ala Moana as was reminded that they were moving into the actual center itself when I saw all the bare shelves which usually blocked out the windows with boxes, as well as the huge "WE ARE MOVING" signs posted up!

When paying for my food, I asked when the big move was, and the girl told me that this was the last day and were closing that afternoon, to have their NEW grand opening later that week!

Walked by the new area later,but there was no hint of the new store to come....

Went to check out the grand opening of the latest bakery shoppe in Ala Moana (of which they are only one of several), the popular CA based bakery, 85°c!

 

It was a madhouse inside the place, but I was able to grab a few treats including the mochi egg tarts, coconut strudel and red bean bread, a small purchase when I saw others simply LOADING their trays with goodies...

With my meager haul I got a 85°c Tote Bag as well as a raffle token which garnered me a 85°c Collectible Mug! Below: Spoils from the Grand Opening!

Yeppp, it's that time of the year! Ala Moana Center's Christmas Tree went up this weekend, and you know what that means- things are gonna get crazy!!! 

Well, we've got a few days til the real Christmas crowd gets here (starting from the 25th things will be nuts!), best enjoy the somewhat serene scene....

 Mmmm...just waiting for my Enchilada Suizas to arrive here at Joses!

 Yatta! It's another new place to get some terrific ramen in Ala Moana! 

I've lamented that ever since COVID, so may noodle houses have gone out of business (Yokocho hit the worst, with ALL ramen shops closed at once!) But they've been slowly making a comeback and I was thrilled to see Kamakura Ramen open up right in the food court!

Lookin' at the menu, I grabbed the Oshii ramen and Gyoza combo....

Mmmm, that's some tasty stuff!!!!
