Grabbing a bite at Honolulu Burger Company tucked away in the "Waikiki Food Hall" in the Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center. Very odd set-up where there's a bunch of eateries inside but you order your food and pay at the first counter then pick up your food at the respective booth.
At the dinner hour where the regular food court is swarming with customers and nowhere to sit, inside the Food Hall are lots of seats and a nice view to boot while you eat!

One of the great allures of visiting the old 88 Tees on Kuhio (now closed) was all the nostalgic memorabilia lining the tops of the T-shirt shelves. Lots of toys, trinkets, etc, when I saw they had a perfectly intact classic Getta Robo-G DRAGUN Shogun Warriors Figure up there, I just HAD to take a pic!
Such a shame to see the old store gone (the space they once occupied now a Donut King) Wonder if all these vintage collectibles has moved to their Kalakaua Store…

Ever since Islands Burgers closed in Ala Moana, just about the only place to get a similar quality burger is at Kua'aina Burger  in Haleiwa. There used to be one right in town, but now if you want one, ya gotta make that trek all way out to the North Shore side...
Besides the terrific food, I've always love the atmosphere of this one, much more than the old Ward Centre one. Very rustic and laid back!
While we were there we saw once again how much Matsumoto Shave Ice had changed- from a quaint (if entirely busy) little shop to this huge, overarching tourist attraction.
Actually, most of Haleiwa has seen a huge facelift recently into this more modern retro "Old Hawaii" setting. And granted, though more bloated and garish than before, it still gave off a relaxed, aloha vibe, much more than Waikiki these days anyway!
Still not a bad place at all to spend an afternoon....
