Another Mililani Sunset Walk

Been awhile since I did an afternoon walk in Mililani, so I loaded the Nishida Hikaru into the ipod and did a nice, leisurely stroll through the neighborhood for dinner!
Afterwards I did some shopping at Walmart and by the time I got out, the clouds had rolled in as the sun shone its last light before dusk!
And that wraps another fine evening Mililani walk!

Dropping in on Mitsuwa

Dropped by Mitsuwa Markerplace in the International Marketplace after a long while, and was pleased to see another ramen vendor taking the place of my old favorite Hokkaido Ramen Santouka which closed in the wake of COVID years back! The new ramen place was called "Ramen Taiga" and while not the same taste as Santouka, was pretty yummy and I enjoyed it!
Shoyu Ramena nd Gyoza Combo
As I ate in the food court area, I noticed they installed a huge Gashapon section against the wall, surely a boon for those into those collectibles as Shirokiya Village Walk had to shut down, though the tourist kids I saw there were confused with the token system and just kept mindlessly cranking the machines for prizes, to no avail!
Yep, so much has changed or been re-arranged, but it was nice to see that the CANMKAE Display area is still up and thriving, and still featuring their cute spokesperson Fuka Koshiba as the pretty campaign face!
As some might recall, I was thrilled when I first discovered the little Fuka Koshiba set-up and had to post about it- it was like seeing a friend at the mall!
SPEAKING of Fuka Koshiba, we are at episode 6 of her thrilling drama Watashi no Otto to Kekkon Shite- MARRY MY HUSBAND, and HOLY HELL, is it AWESOME!!!
Just can't WAIT for the next few episodes- thank GOSH ALMIGHTY that Amazon Prime is doing the unusual tactic of  releasing TWO episodes per week- we are all in a feeding FRENZY with this show!!!

Cloudy Day at Aloha Tower Markerplace

We went down to Aloha Tower Marketplace on a very rainy and overcast weekend, and with the dark clouds and lack of people, somehow felt like we were entering the endtimes! Had the same vibes as when we first began COVID lockdown those years ago, only this time it was only the weather that kept folks away...
Normally festival Hula Girl statue looking rather forlorn as it poses for no one except me and my friends, who dined that afternoon in an equally empty Spaghetti Factory for lunch!

Despite its dreary outlook, rather enjoyed the melancholy vibe of the day!

Yes, We Have No Lemons Today

Hey!~ If you need to get your daily supply of lemons, there’s no better place than  to go to Lemon Supply at Ward Village, right?
 *Reads Note*
 Hmmm, maybe not!

Better Luck tomorrow, I guess!

Panya Restaurant at Ward Village

Doing a morning walk at Ala Moana Beach Park then lunch at the Panya Restaurant by Ward Village. As I recall, this building is in the same place as the old Japanese Bakery Panya...are they related? Don't know!
First time for me, and I was astounded at the SELECTION on the menu- so many kinds of styles to choose from! Many i wanted to try, (including the Pork Chop Fried Rice, which I will HAVE to get next time...), but in the end I had to go with the Panya Cheeseburger special!
Boring choice, but very intersting taste- the burger came with a huge portobello mushroom and bacon strips, making for a very unique taste!
My friend had the Pad Thai- a huge beast of a dish that could have served two!
Definitely will be dropping in again !

Bridge Over Ala Moana Blvd.

As Ala Moana Boulevard is one of the busiest and most hectic roads on Hawaii, crossing it was always a chore, and with all the redevelopment going on at the Ward area, they finally took the time to make a convenient and stress-reducing way to get from one side to another.
Called the Victoria Ward Park, this place is situated approximately where the old Ward Warehouse once stood , and with its many winding paths, makes for a pleasant way to cross the street!
Featuring grassy hills, a calming pond and what looks to be a few cafe booths and eating area, it also serves as a sort of oasis within Kaaka'ako's bustling streets!
Making my way bath and forth, I wasn't the only one taking photos and streaming the crossing, and why not? It led to a great view of the ocean!
Though one side leads to the harbor, the Ward side is still pretty much in development, so the traffic is light, you can expect things to really pick up once the shops and restaurants are there!
